through raising awareness of this deserving charity. The charity is the brainchild of Louise Russell from Glasgow. Louise explains,
‘Give a Dog a Bone… and an animal a home‘ is a young charity. Where money is a genuine barrier, the charity supports the over 60s to afford a rescue pet companion.
The aim is to support individuals through loneliness, and animals through homelessness, by removing some of the financial barriers related to owning a rescue pet and by providing companionship for the person and a much needed home for the animal.
The charity has become known as a ‘go to’ charity to find homes for animals in need, in particular when an owner is suffering from a terminal illness or, in fact, has passed over, leaving their beloved pet behind with no contingency plan in place.”
